Don't take the Law into your own hands

We have all been tempted to do it, the court system is agonizingly slow at times, judges do not always make the right decisions, it seems easy just to take care of it ourself.
In the past, many have tried to do that, and got into a lot more trouble.
You may have heard about the Minnesota State Senator arrested in Detroit Lakes for breaking into the home of her late father's partner. We do not know all of the background here, and, of course the law presumes she is innocent unless she is found guilty.
The complaint against her is the statement of the prosecutor, we do not know what she will have to say. That being said, if the complaint is true, or even partly true, it looks like she went into the home at night to retrieve items she believed to be hers. Her intentions may have been just, but, acting on them instead of waiting for the court has caused her to be charged with a serious crime, felony burglary.
Take this as a lesson, the wheels of justice often grind slow, they are not perfect, but, if you try to buck them you could give yourself a whole new legal headache.
