Attorney Christopher J. Macy
Christopher J. Macy is an attorney with Ed Shaw Law, P.A., and the former Deputy Solicitor General for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, where he prosecutes child protection matters and related child-welfare cases and appears regularly in both Tribal and state courts. Ms. Macy grew up in the Brainerd Lakes Area, earned his bachelor’s degree with distinction in history and political science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and received his Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School.
Before joining Ed Shaw Law, P.A., he served as a staff attorney and supervising attorney with Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota, now Justice North, where his practice focused on family law, domestic violence, housing stability, and other civil issues for low-income clients.
Mr. Macy has also helped implement domestic-violence and eviction-court initiatives in greater Minnesota. His ongoing work with a culturally grounded Family Healing to Wellness Court, along with years of advocacy for survivors of domestic abuse, gives him a trauma- informed lens on parenting-time disputes, interfaith and cultural conflict, and substance use in families.
